DetroitMike87 Story 2024-01-15
My uncle worked at Gilbert's Lodge when Eminem was a cook there. Said he would rap while flipping burgers and always talked about making it big. Everyone thought he was crazy.

HipHopHistorian Fact Check 2024-01-18
The claim that Eminem was booed at the Rap Olympics semifinals is incorrect. He actually placed second and was well-received. The booing incidents were primarily at the Hip-Hop Shop battles.
F
ShadyAftermath Scene Pitch 2024-01-20
Scene suggestion: The moment Dre first heard Eminem's demo in Jimmy Iovine's car. The look on his face when he realized he'd found something special.
S
RecoveryWarrior Story 2024-01-22
'Not Afraid' came out right when I got sober. That song saved my life. I have 'Success is my only option' tattooed on my arm. Eminem made it okay to talk about addiction.

MusicArchivist Fact Check 2024-01-25
The date of Proof's death is confirmed as April 11, 2006, at the CCC Club on 8 Mile Road. Eminem was in rehab at the time of the funeral and did not attend.

DetroitFilmBuff Scene Pitch 2024-01-28
We need a scene about the 8 Mile filming locations—many of which are still recognizable today. The Shelter where the final battle was filmed is still there.
S
GrammyVoter2010 Story 2024-02-01
I was in the room when Recovery won Best Rap Album. The standing ovation for Eminem was the longest I've ever seen. You could feel the respect in that room.
?
ChartWatcher Fact Check 2024-02-03
Eminem's claim of six consecutive Best Rap Album Grammys is accurate: The Slim Shady LP (2000), The Marshall Mathers LP (2001), The Eminem Show (2003), Encore (2005), Relapse (2010), and Recovery (2011).
F
NarrativeDesigner Scene Pitch 2024-02-05
The overdose scene should be handled with extreme care. Focus on the aftermath and recovery rather than the event itself. The doctor's line about 'four bags of heroin' is powerful enough.
S
MMLP2Fan Story 2024-02-08
I was at the 'Rap God' video shoot in Detroit. He did that fast verse in one take. The crew's reaction was pure shock. I've never seen anything like it.
?
HallOfFameResearcher Fact Check 2024-02-10
Eminem was indeed inducted in his first year of eligibility. The eligibility requirement is 25 years after an artist's first commercial recording. Eminem's Infinite (1996) made him eligible in 2021, inducted 2022.
S
SuperBowlLVI Story 2024-02-12
I was at the halftime show. When 'Lose Yourself' started, the entire stadium sang every word. My dad, who never liked rap, knew every lyric. That's impact.
F
CinematographyBuff Scene Pitch 2024-02-14
The final scene with the microphone should mirror the opening—a visual bookend showing how far he's come while remaining true to the art form.
?
SalesTracker Fact Check 2024-02-16
The 220 million records sold figure is verified by RIAA and Nielsen data. Eminem is the best-selling hip-hop artist of all time and among the top 10 best-selling artists across all genres.
S
MomOfStan Story 2024-02-18
My son became obsessed with Eminem when he was 12. I was worried about the content, but then I listened to 'When I'm Gone' with him and realized this artist was teaching my kid about consequences and family.

— From 'The Way I Am' (2000), addressing the media's portrayal of him as a violent misogynist and homophobe. The line captures his defiant relationship with public perception and controversy.

Success is my only motherfucking option, failure's not.
